Interior: Renaissance patio
Although it cannot be seen from the outside, the most interesting feature of the castle
is undoubtedly its magnificent interior palace. A pioneer of the Renaissance movement in Spain, the palace
is of considerable artistic interest and was built with the help of renowned Italian artists.
The palace has been perfectly conserved, and visitors can still admire its "cortile" (named given to the
Renaissance-style patio), surrounded by a double gallery of arches, its columns with Corinthian capitals,
its wonderful Carrara marble staircase and its rich architectural and iconographic decorations.
